My 2019-2020 All-NBA Teams

First Team:

• LeBron James
• Luka Doncic
• Giannis Antetokounmpo
• Kawhi Leonard
• Anthony Davis

Second Team:

• Damian Lillard
• Russell Westbrook
• James Harden
• Pascal Siakam
• Nikola Jokic

Third Team:

• Trae Young
• Bradley Beal
• Jimmy Butler
• Jayson Tatum
• Joel Embiid

Snubs:

• Chris Paul
• Bam Adebayo
• Paul George
• Ja Morant

I believe everyone can agree on my first team selections. I labeled Lebron James as a point guard and moved Davis to center. Many could argue Jokic deserves first team but Davis has had too good of a year defensively and I am not kicking Giannas or Kawhi out. Doncic would not be in the first team if Lillard didn’t get hurt. I have to keep Doncic first team because of his outstanding year without any all stars around him. I also believe Harden could be first team but when they made the trade for Covington it was Westbrook who carried them, not Harden.

For my all NBA second team, I have Dame and Westbrook as my guards. This was easy, Beal and Trae are on losing teams. I can’t give them the nod over what Lillard did in his historic 40 point game stretch. I have .Jokic over Embiid because of the sixers struggles this year. Jokic leads his team in Points, assists, rebounds and field goal percentage. Another crazy stat is the nuggets points per game is at 110 which is 20th in the league. He is carrying them and the biggest reason why they are third in the western conference. Tatum made a jump this year and a scoring stretch to make a case for second team. If you look at the numbers between Paskal and Tatum they are basically the same. At the end of the day the raptors are in second place ahead of the Celtics. I give Siakam the nod.

Third team was the most challenging for me considering I have two guys on the team that won’t be making the playoffs. Chris Paul, Paul George and Bam are so important for their teams success this year. Paul George would be on it, but simply did not play enough games. He played 42 games this year and averaged 21 points. However, Trae Young is averaging 29 and 9, while Chris Paul is averaging just 17 and 6. If you put some pieces around Young, their record is much different. Jimmy Butler deserves to be on an all NBA team this year. He changed teams and carried the Heat from 10th in the East last year to 4th in the East. Bradley Beal needs to be on the All NBA team. He is averaging 30 points a game and has his team in 9th place chasing the 8 seed. He may have the worst cast of role players around him and they are still in contention to make the playoffs. I believe that is more impressive than what Chris Paul is doing for the Thunder. I love Chris Paul and he has lead the Thunder to an unexpected great year but slow down. He has much more talent on his team than Young and Beal and his numbers aren’t there.
