Bonnie’s Outlook:
The Bonnie’s finished the regular season with 19 wins and 12 losses. Unfortunately we were one win short of a double bye in Brooklyn. The Bonnie’s lost last night to St. Louis 72 to 49. The Bonnie’s play Thursday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of George Mason and St. Joe’s. If we continue to win we will play St. Louis Friday, and Dayton (most likely) Saturday. In the championship Sunday we would play Richmond, Rhode Island, Davidson or Duquesne. This is not a friendly road for the Bonnie’s. St. Louis just blew us out, Dayton is the 3rd overall team in the nation and the bottom of the bracket is loaded with great teams.
The Bonnie’s vs. A-10 play this season are 11-7. Records vs. A-10 Opponents:
- George Washington: 2-0
- George Mason: – 2-0
- Umass: 1-0
- VCU: 0-1
- Dayton: – 0-1
- Rhode Island: 0-1
- Fordham: 1-0
- Duquesne: 1-1
- St. Joe’s: 2-0
- Davidson: 0-1
- Richmond: 1-0
- La Salle: 0-1
- St. Louis: 0-1
While Bonaventure has had a such a great season, they have slipped a bit late dropping 3 of the last 4. For a young team this was a challenge and they have a lot to learn from. As a fan, I am looking forward to how they can bounce back. I think with the right execution and game plan they can beat St. Louis in the second round and challenge Dayton. Remember that we competed with the top seed in the first half without Osun at Dayton. Anything can happen in these tournaments. Keep your eye on VCU to upset Dayton in the second round on Friday. They played Dayton extremely well and besides St. Louis, is most likely the best bet to knock Dayton out of the tournament. This is our best hope to win the tournament and go dancing. As always, go Bonnie’s and have a safe weekend in Brooklyn.
