17 More Days Till Brooklyn

17 more days. In my opinion, this is the best month of the year. I saw my school come so close to making it to last years dance and it was heartbreaking. We were one game away from going to the tournament for our second consecutive appearance. Losing to St. Louis last year in the championship game at the Barclay’s Center was easily one of the worst days I’ve experienced on campus. I remember watching from devereux hall cheering on the Bonnie’s and watching the game slip away after my team dominated in the first half. One. Game. Away. I also realize how hard it is to make it. My first year at St. Bonaventure we beat UCLA in a play in game to go dancing. St Bonaventure beating UCLA?! Could I ask for anything more? Oh, I also was there when we beat Syracuse at the dome. Anything else at this point is icing on the cake. It would be difficult to imagine Bonas in the tournament this year, but I have hope because I have seen it two years in a row. And why shouldn’t I? This year has been so up and down but we are right there. We are third in the A-10 and would need three wins to go dancing if we keep our position in the top 4. So, what’s stopping us? Dayton. I believe we can beat anyone in the A-10. We lost to Davidson, Rhode Island, VCU and Dayton. Rhode Island was a close game and if we have Osun, it may be different. We got blown out in each of the other three loses, I know. But Osun was out two of the three games and we hung with Dayton in the first half. Things happen. Injuries, players fouling out, and suspensions happen. I don’t know if we could beat Dayton on our best day, but I would love the challenge and I believe the players would too. Give us Dayton, URI, VCU, I don’t care. I’m not making any predictions, merely just stating my confidence in my school. Our school. What I will say is that I am so excited to be in Brooklyn with the Bonnies. Beer. Bonnie’s. Brooklyn. 17 more days. 3 more weeks till selection Sunday. The best time of the year. Go Bonnie’s.
